Halloween - Facts and Opinions

Where did the Halloween tradition come from?  How old is this tradition, 20 years, 200 years or 2,000 years?

Do you celebrate Halloween?  Do you think it is a fun celebration for family and friends, or just an excuse for shops to make money and children to misbehave themselves?

In this session we will be talking about facts and opinions and comparing this tradtion with other traditions and festivals celebrated here in the UK and around the world.

    Halloween
Halloween is a time when parents and young kids come together. They go out on an evening trick or treating knocking on doors for sweet and money. If given sweet or money it class as a treat if not given anything it class as a trick which means anything goes normally something not good. Parents tend to make Halloween an event for young kids enjoyable.

  3. Experiences and opinions of Halloween

At Halloween I stay indoors and read or watch TV.

In short, because I don't really like Halloween, 'Trick or Treat' is not my cup of tea. I do a lot of hiding behind closed curtains and doors - watching from behind the curtains. Also, I pretend I am not at home becuase I don't want to embarrass the Halloween people or even myself.

The aspects of Halloween I feel that are very good fun or harmless to children are: going to the supermarket with their parents to buy something to cook or eat, or even shopping for new clothes. You can see adults and children dancing and eating and playing music. This is what makes Halloween fun. It brings joy to the heart for those who love Halloween.

Halloween is absolutely absent in my diary. The negative aspects of Halloween are so much more important to me. I will just list but a few. Halloween is bad for children and elderly eople because they might be hurt or even killed. For example, children and adults dress in black and they might be run over by a car. This Halloween a man from Bradford was almost killed when walking his dog in the park. It was in the news this weekend. Finally, another negative aspect of Halloween is that a fire can break out when lighting the pumpkin. The light from the candle can catch the curtains and start a fire. That is a few negative aspects of Halloween.

In my own opinion about Halloween, I think it should be banned or there should be more policing in the street.
